Kid Powered - Team Driven!

Are you looking for a way to promote creative problem solving? Destination ImagiNation, Inc. is the world's largest creative problem solving program. Each year, thousands of students are involved in DI, an exciting team-based program that develops research, creativity, project management, interdisciplinary and life skills as they tackle one of five technical, scientific, and artistic challenges in a performance-based environment. The program is available for kindergarten through college students. DI gives your students the opportunity to solve a challenge, predict and design an outcome, connect to prior knowledge, and work cooperatively with others, while having fun. DI is offered in 48 states and 21 countries.

Students form teams of up to seven members at the beginning of each DI season, typically in the fall. Teams choose to solve one of five Team Challenges, and present their solutions at regional and state tournaments. Each challenge incorporates technical, scientific, artistic, improvisational and performance elements.  Teams also compete in Instant Challenges at each tournament which test the team's immediate creative problem solving skills.  The year culminates in a global competition in May for those teams that win their state or country tournaments.

DI seeks to be the world's foremost non-profit membership organization dedicated to promoting three critical life skills among learners at all levels: Creativity, Teamwork, and Problem-Solving. These three life skills form the core of our organization's value system. Additionally, our challenges are structured to conform to Federal Standards, and can be used within curricula or as an enrichment activity. Students who participate apply their DI creative problem solving skills to a wide array of academic and extracurricular activities.

DI celebrates creativity in our global community, and each individual's unique creative abilities contribute to a team's accomplishments. DI teams achieve extraordinary things. Skills in team building, research, project management, risk taking, and presentation have direct applicability to the workplace. DI participants focus on opportunities rather than problems, approaching challenges by not only thinking outside the box, but revolutionizing the box. DI participants learn HOW to think, not what to think.
